Snook
Also called: Linesider
The snook is the inshore angler's favorite around Anna Maria Island — a sleek, hard-fighting ambush predator marked by a bold black lateral line. They hold tight to mangroves, docks, passes, and beaches, then crush a bait and bolt straight for structure.
Landing a snook on light tackle or a fly rod is a local rite of passage, and our captains know the tides and ambush points that put them in front of you.

How we catch Snook
We sight-fish and live-bait snook along the mangroves, passes, and beaches on our inshore, nearshore, and fly trips, timing the moving water when they feed hardest.
On the table
Snook are outstanding — firm, white, mild fillets — but harvest is tightly controlled by season and slot size, so most are photographed and released.
