Mangrove Snapper
Also called: Gray Snapper
Mangrove snapper are sharp-eyed, hard-pulling little bruisers found everywhere from dock pilings to deep offshore reefs. They get smart fast, so fooling the bigger ones is a real challenge.
Offshore, they grow heavy and brawny — and they're one of the best-eating fish in the Gulf.
