Tripletail
Tripletail are oddballs of the open water — they hang motionless near buoys, crab-trap floats, and weed lines, often lying on their side like a piece of debris. Spotting one is half the fun.
Sight-casting to a tripletail is a quirky, rewarding hunt, and they fight hard for their size.

How we catch Tripletail
We idle and sight-cast live shrimp and jigs to tripletail holding on markers and floating structure on nearshore and offshore trips.

A sleeper favorite on the plate — firm, white, delicate fillets that rival grouper and snapper.
